8-4 Triumph Takes Toronto to 114-14
|
The Toronto Blue Jays finished off the Springfield Sentries, 8-4. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Brian Ruddock. Ruddock was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Blue Jays. Toronto is now 114-14, Springfield 54-74.
In the top of the second, Kazuteru Nishimoto delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Toronto left fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Blue Jays in front, 8-4.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Ruddock.
