Golden Bears Knock Off Lancers, 6-4
|
The Billings West Golden Bears topped the Canby Lancers, 6-4, in Pete Rose Little League action at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS. The player of the game was Billings West center fielder and Mississauga, Canada native Todd Lovell. The winner was Billings West reliever Rob Glesener, now 2-0. The loser was Richard MacLean. Billings West now owns a record of 9-15.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when designated hitter Doug Moore, who is tied for 6th in the PRLL in RBI with 28, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Golden Bears went on to win.
"This is not a one-man show," said Lovell. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
