The Jefferson Indians handed the Pleasantville Panthers a loss at Stealth Ballpark. The final score was 6-3. Clay Aastrom was named player of the game for Jefferson. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 4. Jefferson reliever Jesse Orton picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Josh Wenger was collared with the loss. Kyle Smoot was credited with the save for Jefferson, his 6th of the season.
Aastrom had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 fastball from Eric Mayo, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Indians a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Aastrom.
"We did a lot of things right," said Aastrom.
The Indians improve their record to 11-12 with the win over Pleasantville.
