With Late Score, Hoosiers Beat Falcons

The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
River Falls got a terrific game from third baseman Victor Ramirez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Bloomington, 5-4. Ramirez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bill Rangel was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 13 save opportunities.
Humberto Lucero drove in one run for Bloomington. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Doug Minkler. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said River Falls manager Jian-guo Yang.
With the win, the Hoosiers are 43-85.
