Falcons Turn Back Riverside, 7-5
|
The Frontance Falcons defeated the Riverside Poly, 7-5, at Apollos Ballpark. Frontance shortstop Jon Mack was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The win was credited to Dave Valdez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Vince Anderson took the loss. Frontance's record now stands at 15-8, placing them second in the Hank Aaron Little League Willie Mays Division.
In the top of the fourth, Frontance center fielder Justin Hayman had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Hayman stroked a 2-run double to right. It made the score 3-0, Frontance. For the game, he was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
In comments to the Frontance Gazette, Mack admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
