Vampires Win Nail-Biter
|
The Santa Clara Vampires downed the Montreal Cardinals, 15-14, in 11 innings at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Erik Ingle led the way, going 5-for-5 for Santa Clara. The Vampires improved their record to 11-11 with the win over Montreal.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Ingle delivered big-time for Santa Clara, stroking a dramatic solo home run off John Connors. The game-changing hit put the Vampires on top, 15-14.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Andy Jones, the Santa Clara manager.
