Owusu Excels, But Voodoos Win
The Rutland Voodoos weathered an outstanding game by Santa Clara first baseman Jeremy Owusu to topple the Vampires, 12-9. Owusu went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Brian Sorensen snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 1.1 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. Lee Moore earned the save for Rutland.

Mitch Yarema hit a 3-run home run off Mark Schneider in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Voodoos ahead, 12-9. In addition to the homer, Yarema had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"Swingers' gonna swing," said Yarema, after the high-scoring affair.

The Rutland win streak is now 3 games.
