The Aiken Thoroughbreds picked up a win at Aiken Stadium, downing the Mojave Rattlers, 6-0. On the mound for Aiken was right-hander Jose Marrero, who played a pivotal role in the win. The first-place Thoroughbreds have a record of 91-36.
Marrero scattered 4 hits over 6.2 innings for the Thoroughbreds. With the win, Marrero moves to 5-1 on the year with 108 strikeouts.
"Jose was strictly business," said Aiken field general David Flecha.
