Mustangs Subdue Topeka West, 3-2

The Topeka West Chargers got a superb performance from pitcher Dusty Boyd. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Marin. The Mustangs won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Boyd was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Eric Regush sewed up the save, his 1st. The last-place Chargers have lost 5 consecutive games.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when designated hitter Shane Stafford, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Mustangs organization, drew a walk. The Mustangs went on to win.
"We'll build on this win," said Stafford.
