Cardinals Win at Home, 10-7
|
The Montreal Cardinals had to overcome a big game from Tioga Central right fielder Kenny Forbush to leave Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-7. Forbush went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Andrew Beaton picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Luke Hopkins suffered the loss. With the victory, the Cardinals upped their record to 9-6.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Cardinals grabbed the lead when Richard Hoskins rapped a two-out single. Montreal was trailing 2-1, when Hoskins hit a 2-run single off Luke Hopkins to put his team in front, 3-2.
Hoskins told a Montreal News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
