Pipers Top Hoosiers in Extras, 4-2
|
San Carlos Pipers starter Juan Carrasco turned in an exceptional performance against the Bloomington Hoosiers at Pipers Grove, resulting in a San Carlos win, 4-2. San Carlos reliever Tony Nunez picked up the win, raising his record to 5-2. Octavio Flores was tagged with the loss. The Pipers move to 27-91 with the win.
San Carlos got a clutch hit from Guy Chapuis. The catcher launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 17th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Chapuis.
