Falcons Best Panthers in Pitching Duel
|
The Falcons faced a stiff challenge from Pleasantville pitcher Steve Collison, but persevered to claim a win at Stealth Ballpark. The final score was 2-0. Collison went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Frontance, now 9-3, has played well in the early going.
Frontance used the timely hitting of Justin Hayman to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Falcons on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Hayman told the Frontance Gazette.
