The George Washington Patriots beat the Santa Clara Vampires, 12-8, at Osprey Ballpark. The Patriots got a fine performance from designated hitter Brian Bowman, who slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. George Washington goes to 7-4.

Matt Reeck, who is tied for 3rd in the PRLL in bases on balls with 18, helped out the George Washington cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Reeck told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
