Due in large part to second baseman Richard Hoskins, the Montreal Cardinals sunk the Downsview Mustangs, 14-10. Hoskins went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Montreal reliever Ray Goyette picked up the win. Randy Montalbetti took the loss for Downsview. Montreal now has a record of 7-4.

With Montreal leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Hoskins hit a slider from Randy Montalbetti for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 5-0.

Hoskins said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
