Falcons Turn Back Pitman High, 4-2
|
The Frontance Falcons and Pitman High Panthers played an exciting game at Chickenhawks Stadium.
The Pitman High Panthers got a superb performance from pitcher Sean Ladd, but the Frontance Falcons still won the game, 4-2. Ladd was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Frontance reliever Sean Jordan was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Tony Ard took the loss for Pitman High. Ben Wheeler was credited with the save for Frontance, his 3rd of the season.
Frontance took a 3-2 lead on Cory Mayse's 16th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Mayse hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Pitman High pitcher Tony Ard shaking his head.
Mayse told a Frontance Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Falcons raised their record to 8-2.
