Waugh 3-for-5 to Fuel Blue Jays Offense
|
The Toronto Blue Jays outclassed the Ft. Worth Werewolves, 9-1, at Werewolves Grounds. Ben Waugh, who is tied for 2nd in the TLA with a .589 on-base percentage, was a major contributor for Toronto. Waugh went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Blue Jays saw their win-loss record go to 103-11. At the same time, the Werewolves fell to 45-68.
Toronto used the hitting of Ken Currie to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 3-0. For the game, Currie had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"When you put in the effort and you get really focused, the results come in ways you're not even expecting," said Blue Jays manager Bryan Fulcher.
