Rutland and Jefferson duked it out at Ballpark of Morelia HS and the Voodoos came out victorious.

The Rutland Voodoos topped the Jefferson Indians, 4-1, at Ballpark of Morelia HS. Rutland first baseman Jesse Boudreaux earned player of the game honors. He banged out 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Rutland reliever James Randall was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ben McDonald.

Rutland took a 3-1 lead on Boudreaux's 17th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which he hit off Byron Hooper in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Rutland to the win.

"I like what I saw today," said Rutland manager Doug Taylor, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

Rutland is off to a hot start at 7-3.
