Kennett Slugs Vampires to 11-5 Win
The Santa Clara Vampires topped the Canby Lancers, 11-5, with designated hitter Matt Kennett playing a big role. Kennett hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Vampires in the win. Steve Caruso was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. The Vampires, now 7-2, have been playing some good baseball.

With Santa Clara leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Kennett hit a fastball from John Coursey for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Vampires ahead, 7-3.
