Victoria parlayed a decent outing from starter Ron Krause into a solid win over the Brighton Steelhounds. The final score was 6-3. Joe Pierce earned his 30th save, after closing out the game. The third-place Cougars now have a win-loss record of 69-46.

Victoria used a well-timed hit by Alan Lewis to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cougars ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Victoria manager Tony Varela called it "a pretty good win."
