Lancers Drop Lions with Late Score
|
Canby left fielder Mike Gunther was instrumental in his team's 8-6 win over the Lerna Lions. Gunther, who is rated as the 82nd best prospect by BNN, went 3-5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Lancers. Ryan Simpson recorded his 2nd save for Canby. Canby goes to 7-1 with the win.
Gunther had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count cutter from Chris Hitchcock, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Lancers a 8-6 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Gunther.
"We got the victory," said Gunther. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
