Voodoos Deal Indians 5-4 Loss
|
The Rutland Voodoos wiggled past the Jefferson Indians, 5-4, at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. The win was highlighted by the performance of Rutland pitcher Jake Bush. Brian Sorensen snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 1.1 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Ryan Knight picked up the save for Rutland, his 1st of the year.
Mitch Yarema went 1 for 5 with a double and a walk for Rutland. The 14-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Donnie Owens. It was his 7th walk of the season.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Yarema.
Jefferson drops to 4-4.
