Cortez has 3 hits to Fuel Maulers Offense
|
Martinsburg third baseman Roger Cortez helped his team beat the Saint John Alpines, 11-5. Cortez, who is tied for 6th in the RLA in total bases with 239, went 3 for 3 for the Maulers. Martinsburg is now 66-47.
With Martinsburg leading 6-5 in the bottom of the third, Cortez hit a 2-run single off Saint John hurler Edwin Mares. It was the 130th hit of the season for Cortez and put his team ahead, 8-5.
"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Martinsburg manager Austin Alexander.
