Alpines 4-2 Winners Versus Santa Clara
|
Behind an impressive start by Moises Robledo, Saint John beat Santa Clara, 4-2. Robledo picked up the win for Saint John, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 3-13. Saint John, with the win, climbs to 33-79.
Bernie Quezada had a big run-scoring double for the Alpines in the bottom of the third inning. With Saint John leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Alfonso Garcia and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Alpines ahead, 2-0.
After the game, Saint John manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
