Pipers Squelch Cucamonga Offense in Shutout Win
San Carlos Pipers pitcher Juan Cruz whisked his team past the Rancho Cucamonga, 3-0. The Pipers move to 23-88 with the win.

San Carlos designated hitter Kelvin Mendoza helped the Pipers go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Mendoza hit a run-scoring single off Rancho pitcher Fernando Fernandez.

"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said San Carlos manager Chris Santacroce.
