Indians Topple Mustangs with Late Rally
|
The Jefferson Indians stopped the San Marin Mustangs, 6-3, at Silvertips Ballpark. The Indians got a big game from Eddie Hammond, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Dan Fontaine picked up the save for Jefferson, his 1st of the year. Jefferson has a mark of 3-3 after the win.
It could have been a different outcome for Jefferson, had it not been for Chris LaCombe, the 16-year old catcher . LaCombe contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Jefferson up, 5-3.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," LaCombe said after the game.
