Voodoos Prevail, 7-5, Over Carl Albert
|
The Rutland Voodoos topped the Carl Albert Titans, 7-5, with designated hitter Justin Bowell playing a big role. Bowell went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Voodoos in the win. Rutland reliever David Schober picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Roland Kelts was collared with the loss. Rutland, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
In the top of the first, Bowell pounced on a 2-1 fastball from Roland Kelts and hit a 3-run home run. It put Rutland on top, 3-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Bowell said after the game.
