Warhawks Pick Up 9-6 Win
|
The Frontance Falcons got a superb performance from pitcher Francisque Ivan. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Seminole. The Warhawks won the game, 9-6. In spite of the loss, Ivan was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball. Nick Champion got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Falcons to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Casey Godek was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
One consequential at-bat came in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, the batter, Jesse Cashman, hit a 2-run single. It made the score 6-4, Seminole, and helped them go on to win.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Warhawks manager Mike Carter. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Warhawks, with only their 1st win in 4 games, have not had much to write home about in 2044.
