The Voodoos had to overcome a fine effort from Pitman High pitcher Rodolfo Martinez to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Batfish Ballpark. Martinez went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Rutland reliever Matt Daniel was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Daniel McNeil took the loss for Pitman High. John Laub recorded his 2nd save for Rutland.

Tristan Cobb had a big hit for Rutland in the top of the eighth inning. With Rutland trailing 3-2, Cobb hit a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Voodoos up, 4-3.

"I like our moxie," said Voodoos manager Doug Taylor.

The Voodoos keep rolling, raising their record to 2-1.
