The Riverside Poly downed the Baie-Comeau All Blacks, 9-8, at Apollos Ballpark. The Poly were led by Tony Johnson, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Riverside reliever David Eiseman was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jayden Smith took the loss. Riverside, at 2-0, has sizzled in the early going.

Johnson had an impressive at-bat with the game on the line. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 0-1 fastball from Jayden Smith for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Poly took the lead, 9-8.

"This wasn't a good win," said Johnson. "It was a great win."
