Big Day by Quattlebaum Ignites Outlaws Win
The Calgary Outlaws bested the Victoria Capitals by a score of 13-9, with center fielder Matt Quattlebaum getting the main credit. On the day, Quattlebaum was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Outlaws. Calgary reliever Len Talbot was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Paul Jewers took the loss for Victoria. Grant Dondale converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the second inning. That's when catcher Chris Stowe drew a walk. The Outlaws went on to win.

"I know we have our doubters," said Victoria manager Felipe Arreola. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

Even with the win, the Outlaws have a dismal 19-37 record.
