Maulers Pin 3-1 Loss on Brighton
|
Starting pitcher Jorge Arias did his part in helping the Martinsburg Maulers thwart the Brighton Steelhounds, 3-1. After today's action, Martinsburg sits at 62-43; Brighton slips to 69-36.
The Maulers got a big at-bat from shortstop Danny Montes. For the game, Montes went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Martinsburg a 2-0 lead.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Arias. "It sure beats the alternative."
