Monarchs Lose 4-1 Decision to Trois-Rivieres
|
Starting pitcher Stu Carnell did his part in helping the Trois-Rivieres Saints thwart the London Monarchs, 4-1. Carnell yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 4, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-6. Greg Pond was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
The Saints had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the eighth. The score was 4-1, Trois-Rivieres. But London, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had mounted a threat. Tim Voeller dug in at the plate. But on a first pitch fastball, Voeller grounded out.
The third-place Saints sport a record of 25-29.
