Niagara right-hander Kenny Davies made an effective start against the Victoria Capitals at Ballpark of Chilliwack College, leading his team to a 5-4 win. Niagara is third in the Lester B. Person League East Division with a record of 21-28.

Niagara used the timely hitting of Eric Sims to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Sims said.
