The Saint John Alpines beat the Arlington Stars, 8-6, at Stars Field. The win was due in part to designated hitter Don Blatchford, who was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Edwin Mares snagged the win in relief. He goes to 9-1 on the season. Tim Phillips suffered the loss. Justin Campbell wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.

Second Baseman Jason Davis made an impact for Saint John, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Tim Phillips in the top of the fifth. For the contest, Davis went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Blatchford.

Saint John is first in the RCL LA West Division with a record of 68-32.
