Saints Prevail, 2-1, Over Niagara

Trois-Rivieres got a first-rate effort from pitcher Dan Swedlove, who frustrated Niagara hitters en route to a 2-1 Saints triumph at Blue Wings Ballpark. Bernie Casey finished the game for Trois-Rivieres and earned his 3rd save. At 13-29, Trois-Rivieres is in last place in the Lester B. Person League East Division.
The Saints got a big at-bat from right fielder Ralph O'Dwyer. For the game, O'Dwyer was 1-3 with a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 36th hit of the season gave Trois-Rivieres a 2-1 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Niagara skipper Bob Costas, "and it cost us."
