The Trois-Rivieres Saints got a strong performance from pitcher Roy Mailman, who stymied the Kelowna offense en route to a 7-2 win at Blue Wings Ballpark. Mailman, the winner, moves to 1-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 4 walks. Even with the win, the Saints have a dismal 12-28 record.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Justin Carriere didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Kelowna trailing 3-2, Carriere retired Dave Pippy to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Carriere, with a wink.
