The London Monarchs weathered an outstanding game by Victoria right fielder Rudolph Girton to topple the Capitals, 11-10. Girton went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Even with the win, the Monarchs have a dismal 13-26 record.

London used the timely hitting of Tim Voeller to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Monarchs on top, 11-9. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We want to make a habit of winning," Voeller said after the game.
