The inspired effort of Kelowna designated hitter Harry Sheppard was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Trois-Rivieres Saints. Sheppard went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. Jeremy Way notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-2. The third-place Saints now have a record of 17-20.

Theodore McGillis came through with a big-time hit for Trois-Rivieres. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

McGillis expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
