The 11-5 Kingston win over Martinsburg was due largely to Matt Rich. The Beats center fielder went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Jose Montoya earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Kingston is now 38-61, Martinsburg 57-41.

With Kingston leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Rich hit a fastball from Jose Gonzalez for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Beats ahead, 5-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Rich told a Kingston Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
