Legends Come Back Late to Top Stars

Both teams had their chances, but the Saskatoon Legends eventually prevailed at Drummondville College Grounds.
Niagara got a terrific performance from pitcher Nicolas Haddad, but it wasn't enough to beat the Saskatoon Legends. Saskatoon won the Drummondville College Grounds contest, 3-2. Haddad was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Don Spotton earned his 13th save in 15 tries.
Saskatoon used the timely hitting of Dan Bychyk to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Legends ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Niagara manager Bob Costas said following the tough loss.
Saskatoon is now 25-10, 3½ games up in the Lester B. Person League West Division.
