Saints Need Extras to Top Royales
|
The Trois-Rivieres Saints racked up a win at Eliminators Ballpark, bumping off the Montreal Royales, 3-1. Roy Mailman, who started for Trois-Rivieres, pitched effectively for his team. Trois-Rivieres reliever Bernie Casey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Conor Webb absorbed the loss. Trois-Rivieres is now 11-24. Montreal is 21-14.
Also pitching in was Trois-Rivieres left fielder Stan Southorn, who hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th. For the game, Southorn went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Exciting game to play in," said Mailman. "Getting the win makes it even better."
