Multi-HR Game for Dempsey in 5-4 Win
The Trois-Rivieres Saints did just enough to sneak past the Calgary Outlaws, 5-4, at Blue Wings Ballpark. Trois-Rivieres left fielder Fred Dempsey, in particular, had a standout performance. Burt Guerin earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Jude Helmer picked up the save for Trois-Rivieres, his 1st of the year.

Had Ford Atley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Atley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Saints.

Dempsey called it "a solid win."

The third-place Saints have won 5 in a row.
