The Trois-Rivieres Saints picked up a win at Ballpark of Chilliwack College, taking down the Victoria Capitals, 8-7. Starting pitcher Stu Carnell was a big reason why. Carnell, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. Greg Pond, who is the 9th-best prospect in the Saints organization, nailed down the save.

Bob Pyke had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the seventh for Trois-Rivieres. With the bases loaded and the Saints leading 7-2, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Carnell said.

The Saints, now 15-19, have won 4 in a row.
