Royales Prevail, 8-6, Over Kelowna
|
The Montreal Royales defeated the Kelowna Heat, 8-6, at Eliminators Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Montreal was left fielder Barry Merrit. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Montreal reliever Tyler Eteldrum picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jeffrey Monk was saddled with the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Conor Webb.
Bob Adler's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant for the Royales. Coming to the plate with a runner on 2nd and Montreal trailing 6-5, the designated hitter hit a run-scoring single.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Montreal manager Kamatari Inoue.
Montreal has 3 straight wins, Kelowna 3 straight losses.
