Royales Suffer 4-3 Road Loss
|
The Montreal Royales got a sterling performance from pitcher Harris Joseph, but the Trois-Rivieres Saints still prevailed, 4-3. Joseph threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Roy Weareorwear, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 5. The Saints raised their record to 12-19.
Trois-Rivieres took a 4-3 lead on Bob Pyke's 12th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Pyke hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Montreal pitcher Harry Krause visibly frustrated.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pyke. "And not try to do too much."
