Montreal Royales starter Harry Griffin was in fine form against the Niagara Stars at Eliminators Ballpark, leading his team to a 3-1 win. Conor Webb picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. John Morris was tagged with the loss. Niagara is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Montreal designated hitter Don Riley said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the tenth. He did more than that -- Riley hit a 2-run home run to stake Montreal to a 3-1 lead. His 4th home run of the season came off Niagara pitcher John Morris.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Riley.
