Ruddock Leads Charge, Toronto Blasts Cucamonga
The Toronto Blue Jays bombarded the Rancho Cucamonga, 15-3, at Exhibition Stadium. Leading the blitz was Brian Ruddock. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for Toronto. Picking up the win was Kyle Phillips. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 8 and walked 2. With Toronto leading 11-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Ruddock came up to bat against Rancho pitcher Ivan Alvares. Ruddock hit a fastball to center for a grand slam home run. His 20th home run of the season put the Blue Jays on top, 15-3.
