The Victoria Capitals powered past the Kelowna Heat, 11-8, at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. Grégoire Nguyen went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Jerry Gaudet earned the save for Victoria, his 1st of the year. The first-place Capitals have won 5 straight games.

Early in the game, left fielder Frank Cartier had a grand slam home run for Victoria. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Capitals on top, 4-0.

"The vibe's good," said Victoria manager Felipe Arreola. "We've got to keep it going."
