Kerr Hits Two Homers in 9-1 Win for Victoria
Getting offensive support from Alex Kerr, the Victoria Capitals topped the Montreal Royales, 9-1. Kerr belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Capitals. Ken Goulding earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Victoria is now 17-9, 3 games up in the Lester B. Person League West Division.

The Capitals got a big hit from shortstop John Corrigan. Facing Montreal pitcher Roger Southcott in the top of the sixth, Corrigan pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 6th home run of the season put the Capitals ahead, 8-0.

"They took it to us," said Montreal manager Jon Miron.
