Bloomington had no answer for Springfield Sentries hurler Rey Rodriguez, who overwhelmed Hoosiers hitters as the Sentries coasted to victory, 10-0. The winning pitcher was Rodriguez, now 5-7. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. The defeat makes Bloomington 32-63.

Orlando Torres had a big grand slam home run for the Sentries in the bottom of the second inning. With Springfield leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 17-year old left-handed pitcher Victor Cardenas and swatted a home run to left. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sentries ahead, 6-0.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Sentries manager Barrett Jackson.
